Originally known as Sarnia’s Athletic Park, it was later renamed in honour of Norman Perry. Perry, well-known as the Galloping Ghost, played for the Sarnia Imperials football team for 8 years and won the Grey Cup twice in the 1930’s. Sarnia is proud of this Canadian football honour. The park has a football field, a soccer field, and tennis courts. It is now home to the Sarnia Imperials and the Sarnia Rugby club, which was formed in 1928.
In May 2013, the Alix Foundation contributed to installing new artificial turf on what has become known as Alix Field. It is now considered the centerpiece of Norm Perry Memorial Park.
