Berry season is upon us and plenty of our farms offer opportunities for you to pick your own strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries as well as some farms having vegetable picking. Plenty of Sarnia-Lambton farms provide opportunities for you to pick your own fruits and vegetables. Zekvelds in Plympton-Wyoming has farm picking all summer, but June and July are ripe with different fruits so make sure to take a look online to see what’s available. If you’re looking for fresh berry picking out in Grand Bend hit up Around The Bend Berry Farm. They frequently have the option for ready pick berries if you don’t want to pick your own.

Farmer’s Markets
Some farmer’s markets in the county run all year long, but with the warm weather upon us they’re all in full swing. Sarnia Farmers’ Market has been operating for over 70 years and features a variety of local vendors like Vrolyk Farms, Stewarts Pickwick Produce, and more every Wednesday and Saturday all year long. The Petrolia Farmers’ Market operates every Saturday morning running May through October, hosting vendors including Sycamore Farm and Carver’s Natural Farms. On Sunday’s between May and Thanksgiving you can find the Pinery Market in Grand bend booming with over 200 indoor and outdoor vendors there is sure to be something for everyone. Parking is free but there is a $2 admission fee for visitors 11 years of age and older. Local Roots Farmers Market is looking to host their first annual farmers market at Ferguson Estates! They are looking to run every Tuesday night from June through September so head on out to Camlachie to show your support!

There are so many more local farms that provide great produce and animal products. A few that might be worth checking out are Cedarview Farm Baker, they produce the ingredients to make all the delicious bakery items you can find in their store. At Dons Organic Garden you can find organically grown produce and hormone free beef and poultry. Black Ash Acres is an alpaca farm out on Courtright Line. They have a farm store which features alpaca fur products like hats, mittens, and other items. Westland Greenhouses in Grand Bend provides beautiful annual Spring flowers to put on display in your home. They also grow seasonal herbs and vegetables, olive plants, citrus trees, and more for purchasing.
