After being gone all winter, I’m glad to be back in town for the best time of the year! So many things to do I may not even have enough time to fit it all into just one summer. First thing I wanted to do once I was back, spend a day in Point Edward with my friends.
Waking up bright and early in one of our many wonderful hotels down on Venetian Boulevard. We head to the coffee lodge down the street for a nice cup to fuel us up for the big day ahead of us. We then reach the fantastic Sarnia Golf & Curling Club for our 9:00 am tee time.
It’s one of if not the most beautiful course in town, even hosting the 2022 Ontario Senior Men’s golf tournament. We tee off and play a great 18 holes of golf. Losing several balls, getting a handful of bogeys, and chipping in one nice birdie.
After a fun round of golf, we are all hot and tired, so we make our way down to the St. Clair River and have a seat underneath the wonderful Bluewater bridges. Looking out at the bright blue flowing water with a nice breeze blowing in the air is just perfect. Until I caught the smell of some of Sarnia’s world-famous French fries! We all immediately make our way over to get some lunch. Delicious corndogs, pulled pork poutines, and of course, a big box of French fries.
Once we are done polishing off the fries, we all realize we are right down the road to the Starlight Casino! So, we make the walk alongside Point Edwards spectacular waterfront as the sun is starting to set and shines along the river.
We then arrive at the casino which also has a great restaurant and bar called “Match Eatery & Public House” We play a couple hands of blackjack then head over into the bar area to watch the Sarnia Sting compete in the OHL playoffs against the London Knights.
It was a hard-fought battle and a great game, with London unfortunately
taking the victory. We proceed to then make our way home for the evening when we all agreed we could stop somewhere for a bite to eat. Luckily, a Point Edward favourite is right down the street at a great local restaurant called “Los Puntos Cantina” Where they have some of the best Mexican food in the entire county!
Once we finish up some tasty tacos, and a margarita or two. We are all ready to head back home and get some rest after one truly incredible day in Point Edward Ontario. A small town filled with big things to do!
