‘Cheers Week’ has been an absolute blast and we are so thankful for the experiences we have been given. From getting to see the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ and all the behind-the-scenes work, to every detailed aspect of each brewery, winery, meadery, and cidery it has been inspiring to witness these glimpses and share with all of you the skill and effort that each location puts into their craft. We want to say thank you to everyone involved including the talented local drink producers, those who visited us on our journey and entered the Cheers to The Coast giveaway, and all of those who followed along online as we shared our daily journey. We’ve learned so much about the Cheers to the Coast Trail and are so glad we get to share everything we’ve learned with you!
Alton Farms Estate Winery
Alton Farms Estate Winery offers a variety of wines using grapes grown on their estate. The winery offers tastings, tours, and a beautiful vineyard setting for visitors to enjoy. Black Gold Brewery
Stopping in the town of Petrolia during ‘Cheers Week’, we visited Black Gold Brewery. We had a welcoming experience at this beautiful place and we would definitely recommend anyone to go visit! One of the cool and unique things about Black Gold that various aspects of their brewery are made up of different parts of historic sites in the area! They also have some delicious popcorn, lots of things to eat, plus delicious beer. How does it get better than that?
Dark Horse Estate Winery
Dark Horse Estate Winery is such a beautiful vineyard. As you drive up to the estate, you are blown away by the unique architecture and pristine landscape. Come visit this one-of-a-kind winery, and you’ll be just as enchanted as we were.
Imperial City Brew House
An amazing place we got to visit during Cheers Week was Imperial City Brew House. They were fabulous hosts and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walk through the doors. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and were having a good time. Imperial City has a very cool, open concept interior that shows off where they make the beer, and it has so much room to have loads of fun! They have a lot of special event nights going on frequently, so definitely go try it out for yourself! Get some delicious beer and have a great time at Imperial City Brew House.
Munro Honey & Meadery
Munro Honey and Meadery was another special stop along the Cheers to the Coast Trail during our ‘Cheers Week’ adventures. Munro is truly a unique business because they were the first meadery in Ontario. As well as making honey products on-site, Munro makes incredible mead. We were able to see the behind-the-scenes, and it did not disappoint! The staff is knowledgeable and will happily answer any questions about this lesser-known form of alcohol. Just because it isn’t as common as beer means it isn’t good – their Raspberry Session Mead won gold at the All Canadian Wine Championship of 2023.
Point Brewing Co.
Point Brewing Company was such a treat for us to visit! This scenic drink producer is the only brewery in Point Edward. They’re known for their warmth and welcoming vibe. By being such a short distance from the bridge, you can easily enjoy a delicious beer and then take a walk under the beautiful Bluewater Bridge. Come visit Lambton County’s newest brewery today!

When we stopped at The Tin Fidler Brew Pub during our ‘Cheers Week’, we had an amazing time. This trendy brew pub is the home of River run brew co. The staff here was fun and friendly and weren’t afraid to make sure their customers and ourselves were always doing great. Some unique things about The Tin Fidler were seeing their set up and how they really took their time making sure that no small detail was missed. Their patio is gorgeous and had a full playlist of our favourite music playing to sing along to or even dance to. To top it off and paired with the delicious River Run beer, the Tin Fiddler Brew Pub has some delicious food and it is all fresh!

Our next stop on the Cheers to the Coast Trail was Twin Pines Orchards & Cider House. This business would not be what it is without the hard work of the entire family. They believe in taking care of both the land and ourselves, which you can clearly taste within their cider as there are no harsh chemicals or preservatives. Widder Station Brewing Co.
Finally, ending our incredible Cheers Week, we made the trip to Widder Station Golf, Grill & Taphouse! Located in Thedford, Widder Station is a beautiful 18 hole golf course in pristine condition, which is all due to the hard work the grounds crew puts into the course everyday. Grab a cold drink and some great food at the restaurant and take a seat on the patio that overlooks the 9th hole. The grounds also include spaces for weddings and events which serve cold beer brewed on site at Widder Brew Co. They even have sites for RV camping if you want to stay and play.
